Defining Adventure

An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered; an adventure is an inconvenience rightly considered." - G.K. Chesterton

We certainly have had our share of adventures and chance-of-a-lifetime moments in the last couple of months. Hopefully we considered them in the right manner!  In March and April, Nick, Liam and I traveled to France, Israel and Austria.

I plan to detail our adventures a bit more soon, but thought I would let you know what we've been up to (and why Liam looks like a Bedouin baby in the photo below--the sun was intense!).

We walked where Jesus walked in the Galilee, spoke ancient Greek among ruins in northern Israel, prayed for the church at the Western Wall and walked the ramparts of the city of Jerusalem.

We battled volcanic ashcloud in our quest to return to Oxford and spent five whirlwind days in Vienna, Calais and Dover trying to get home. The process involved a 20-hour bus ride, two attempts (including security with the baby!) to fly out, amazing Christian hospitality and lots of gelato and apple strudel.

We're now settling back into Oxford life, looking for a new apartment to fit our growing 10-month-old and preparing for Phd. studies that start this fall. Whew. Our next goal is to stay home for a bit of normalcy and enjoy welcoming spring to Oxford.
